Peru with Machu Picchu - 8 days
|
|
Your
journey along one of the ancient Inca trails begins in Lima; its
architecture reflects the splendor of its colonial history, and market
stalls in the Correo Central have the vitality of an ethnic bazaar.
You fly to the mountain city of Cuzco (center of
the world for the ancient Inca) and stay in an exquisitely restored
16th-century monastery. Traveling by train along the Urubamba River
valley, you go higher into the mountains, past snow-covered peaks, to
the stunning site of Machu Picchu.
